Gold has been the lure which has attracted many to North America to prospect for gold. Dr Stephen Knipe will tell us about gold and other metal ore samples which are sent to AMTEL (Advanced Mineral Technology Laboratory) from major mines around the world where they are analysed for the chemical and mechanical processes needed to recover and separate the metals. AMTEL was formed through a multi-million dollar initiative, sponsored by a consortium of eleven mining companies based in Canada and worldwide.
