Sunday 5 July (Field Meeting): Burton Dassett, Warwickshire. Leader Ray Pratt. Joint event with the Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group. Meet at 10.30, Burton Dassett Country Park car park. Grid ref: SP 395 522. (Car Parking at Burton Dassett costs £3.50 per day. Payment by card or cash.) The park was created in 1972 from a complex of former quarries and intervening disturbed ground, mostly overgrown but with some good exposures of the Liassic Marlstone Formation. This site incorporates several stratigraphic units and lithologies ranging from the Lower Jurassic Dyrham Formation to the Middle Jurassic Northampton Sand. Trip duration: 2 – 3 hours.
